Seaside wins in special contest Pyrenees Mediterranean

on Dec 05, 2011

The jury for the special award offered by the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean has decidedthe winner from best photos submitted of Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées.

Ten photos were selected with honourable mentions: 3 from Catalonia, 5 from Languedoc-Roussillon and 2 from Midi-Pyrénées. Among castles and churches, the winner is a typical Mediterranean seaside view. French author Fildefer wins with a photo taken at dawn of the Church Notre-Dame-des-Anges at Collioure (Pyrénées-Orientales, Languedoc-Roussillon). The old lighthouse converted into the bell tower of the church is omnipresent in most views of the port of Collioure. Combining artificial light and dawn light the picture conveys an unusual sense of calm and beauty. (post by Vicenç Riullop)
