Europeana  is an internet portal that acts as an interface to millions of books, paintings, films, museum objects and archival records that have been digitised throughout Europe[1]. Europeana will sponsor one of the main prizes and also a special Art Nouveau prize.

Majolikahaus in Vienna is a perfect example of Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau is a style of art popular throughout Europea around 1900. Most European countries have buildings in the Art Nouveau style. Europeana is working on bringing these different countries together in a virtual exhibit.

In light of this exhibit, Europeana will sponsor a special prize for the best picture of an Art Nouveau monument submitted in one of the national contests. Yes, you read it correctly, even if a picture doesn’t get nominated as one of the top-10 of its country, it makes a chance to win the special Art Nouveau prize – as long as it still complies with the main European contest requirements.
